The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) proposed a comprehensive rehabilitation project for the historic Columbia-Wrightsville Bridge. Studies began in 2016. Work is anticipated to take place between the 2027 and 2031.

Progress: Hanover Theater

The 2011 Pennsylvania At Risk Hanover Theater (also known as the State Theater) will be purchased by Hanover Borough (York County).  The Hanover Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) (formed in 2021), worked closely with the York County Economic Alliance to put together a successful deal and the work now begins to find an investor and/or developer with the vision to successfully reinvigorate the building and block.

The Reveal: Mifflin House Saved!

The Mifflin House (York County) will be purchased by the environmental nonprofit The Conservation Fund, in collaboration with Preservation Pennsylvania and the Susquehanna National Heritage Area (SNHA). Preservation Pennsylvania added the property to the 2017 Pennsylvania At Risk.

York County’s Hanover Theater, once “At Risk,” now slated for redevelopment

The Hanover Theater (originally State Theater) at 37-41 Frederick Street in downtown Hanover will be sold to a redevelopment group. The historic theater was named to Preservation Pennsylvania’s list of threatened and endangered historic properties in 2011.
